The OCXs are 32 bit, but work ok with 64 bit Windows, if I compile the app as 'x86' instead of 'any CPU'. Somehow I missed the fact that the old SETUP tools were removed from Visual Studio in favor of Installshield Limited Edition.

I need to have the install register the OCXs. I'm not seeing any easy way to have Installshield do that. When I click on the 'Dependencies' in the setup project, it just prompts me to upgrade to a more full-featured version of Installshield. I briefly considered doing that until I saw the price.
Can I get the Limited Edition to register my OCXs? Did I just miss it?
I've recently upgraded to Visual Studio 2013. I have a project that uses SQL 2012 SMO so I want to install the following pre-requisites in my app setup package: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP1 CLR Types Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP1 Shared Management Objects Having discovered that MS now ships the Limited Edition of InstallShield with VS, (or rather, you can download it manually) I started testing my new setup package out. I found the Redistributables link, which I think is the same as Pre-requisites: Within here, I was able to tick the ones I need: I found that right-clicking the selection, allowed me to re-order the firing of them: It all sounds great. However, I have two issues that I could with your help with: 1) When I run the Setup.exe on a client machine (without any command line switches), it only seems to pick up one of my two pre-requisites as being required. I know they are both still required because I have checked Add/Remove Programs and they are not listed. If they were present, it would not let me install them again if tried manually, but it does. I need it to install them both. 2) I will ultimately need to run this unattended. If both of the pre-requisites are pre-installed manually, then I can use the following switches to run the installer unattended. Setup.exe /S /v/qr.
However, if the pre-requisites are not installed, it will try to install them (great), but something must be wrong with the switches it is passing to msiexec because I get this before it then continues on with the installation (minus the SQL bits): Am I doing something wrong? Regards, Rawden. I'm not sure if what I'll say is all possible in Installshield Starter edition, but that's how it would have to be resolved. Regarding redistributables. In order to find out how each particular one is found needed or not, you need to analyze the conditions. The prerequisite needs to be opened in Prerequisite Editor, then you can see the conditions.

Once you know the conditions, you can check them on the system where it's being installed. Regarding command line, first try to put /qr in quotes and a space: /v' /qr'. If that does not help, run while Installer's message is on the screen, and check command line for msiexec, then you will know what was actually passed that it did not like.
